Velocity Credit Union Makes Donation to Children’s Charity Wonders and Worries

Velocity Credit Union Makes Donation to Children’s Charity Wonders and WorriesVelocity Credit Union has donated $2,392 to Wonders and Worries, a small nonprofit running on donations and volunteer effort that helps children cope when a parent faces a serious or life-threatening illness. The organization receives no federal or state money.

The funds were collected through Velocity’s Youth Saving Challenge, an annual program which helps to teach children about the benefits of saving. Each spring, children who are members of Velocity Credit Union’s Youth Club are encouraged to save and, at the campaign’s conclusion, donations are made to a different youth-oriented charity based upon the amount of dollars deposited into their accounts.

“We like to think of it as children helping children,” said Gary Hampton Jr., Velocity Credit Union’s community relations specialist.
