We’re Velocity Credit Union and, chances are, you’re eligible for membership! Do you:
- Live, work, worship, or attend school in Travis, Hays, Bastrop or Caldwell Counties?
- Live or work in Williamson County?
- Live or work within a 10-mile radius of any Velocity branch or ATM?
- Have a relative who’s a Velocity member?

Even if you don’t qualify for membership based on geography or relation, you can still join through the historic Paramount Theater: A one-time donation of $10 to the Paramount Theater Association makes you eligible for membership at Velocity. We’ll take care of the donation as part of the account opening process.
Here’s another option. You are automatically eligible for membership if you volunteer for, belong to, or work for one of our sponsoring partners, employers, or organizations (see sample list, below).
You can join online in about 10 minutes. Open a savings (share) account with a $5 deposit, and then open other accounts or apply for a loan. Just maintain a $5 minimum balance to keep your membership active. If you’d rather open your account in person, visit any of our area branch locations.
How do you define “relative who's a Velocity member?”
Eligible relations include: children, adopted children, grandchildren, parents, grandparents, siblings, in-laws, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, first cousins and/or any of these relationships acquired or assigned through marriage, such as step-children or step-parents.

How can I switch my current account to Velocity?
✔ Review monthly statements or activity online.
Make note of current auto-drafts, direct deposits and outstanding transactions.
✔ Update automatic drafts.
Identify automatic payments being drawn from your current checking account and redirect them to Velocity. Make sure there are enough funds in your new Velocity account before switching over any current automatic payments.
✔ Update and inform direct depositors.
Contact your employer or others making direct deposits into your account to make sure they send deposits to your new Velocity account (includes payroll departments, government agencies, and pension providers).
✔ Close your other accounts.
Once you have updated automatic payments and deposits to point to your new Velocity accounts, you can close your old accounts. Contact your previous financial institution to find out how. If needed, use this generic Account Closure form. Be sure that all outstanding transactions have cleared first.
