Frank Gonzalez, Investment Advisor
Frank Gonzalez is an investment advisor, registered through CUSO Financial Services, L.P. (CFS), our broker dealer, associated with Velocity Investment Planning. He has over 14 years of investment experience and industry knowledge. Frank comes to us from an independent wealth management firm.
He has worked with everyone from entry level-career to executive level people. He is licensed to sell securities in Texas and other states upon request. Frank is dedicated to servicing our members and always welcomes the opportunity to meet with you.
Frank explains his approach as follows: “When reviewing the portfolio, I often notice some major issues. One being asset class and/or individual sector overlap. In other words, you may hold two different funds but they hold the same securities. Second, expense ratios may not be in line with performance. The goal is to find good money managers at a reasonable fee level. Third is account consolidation. Many have moved around from a previous employer and may have retirement plan assets in many different places. This poses two problems. One is that upkeep is not as easy as it should be. Secondly, there are separate expenses for each of these plans.
“In selecting and constructing portfolios, I use several sources of information to vet and implement my ideas. Among them being Morningstar, industry publications and conference calls with fund managers. My mission is to beat the benchmark net of fees with less risk. I do this by having a multiple scenario outlook. In December, I formulate the upcoming year’s investment landscape while remaining flexible enough to have a plan B. This is important because unexpected events can and do happen. Consistency is something I pride myself on. I am looking to hit investment singles and doubles versus home runs and striking out. This allows for a smoother set of returns. When I meet with a member, we will discuss what is important to them and talk about their future investment goals. I will ask many questions to ensure that the investment allocation chosen matches up with your comfort level and time horizon. It may be someone who has changed jobs and needs rollover options. I may meet with a senior that is looking for a conservative investment strategy to supplement retirement income. It could be a high net worth individual who is interested in capital preservation. When a member works with me, they deserve and will receive the service, solution and satisfaction they deserve. I look forward to maintaining a long-term relationship and to being there through all of life’s investment stages.”
Frank earned his bachelor of business administration degree from Texas State University. He specializes in wealth management, custom asset allocations, risk management, portfolio analysis, stock and exchange traded fund research, retirement projections, retirement planning strategies, alternate investments, bond ladders, and annuities.
Frank is active in the community at events such as barbecue competitions that benefit local charities. In his off-time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Laura, and their German shepherd, Tifah.
